Sensorial. Sensorial activities focus on helping children explore their different senses. They include exercises in visual perception, touch, sound and taste, concentrating on each sense separately. 

Mathematics. Mathematics in the Montessori setting is a hands-on experience. It starts with indirect concepts like rhymes and songs and progresses to more complex activities, building a strong mathematical foundation. 

Language. Language development is approached phonetically, starting with exposure to sounds and word patterns through games, rhymes, poems and songs. Children then progress to using tools like sandpaper letters and the large moveable alphabet for word building. 

Culture. Cultural experiences at Monash ELC include geography, history, nature and science, focusing initially on the child’s immediate world and community. These activities foster a sense of belonging and a deeper understanding of the world.
